This hotel is absolutely what every hotel needs to be! From the first step inside it feels like home. The first thing You see is the beautiful common area with the fireplace in the middle. Just sit down and read a book, play a game of chess or enjoy a nice talk to your fellow partner. The next thing you notice is the awesome bar and the fancy restaurant. The room is amazing. It is bigger than any other room on our Iceland trip. Awesome bathroom with nice tiles and design. Probably the best and most comfortable beds of our whole trip, and the most important part, it was definitely the most silent room we had. You couldn’t even hear the doors of the other rooms or that someone is walking outside. In the evening after an exhausting day you can relax in the infrared sauna and after that jump into the hot tub. Absolute recommendation. The breakfast is really amazing too and depending on where you seat yourself, you will enjoy a nice view while seating in sunshine.

This was our 2 night treat in a 10 day self-driving tour. The town has a spectacular setting surrounded by mountains which one can enjoy from the hot pool. Our room had a view over the harbour and had everything one could wish for - eg bath robes provided for the spa. Breakfast was excellent and enjoyed with views over the water with a full range of hot and cold options. The sweet pickled herring was a delight. The town is very walkable. The Diamond Circle via Godafoss, Lake Myvatn, Dettifoss and Husavik is doable in a day, allowing time for a dip in the geothermal baths at Myvatn and fish and chip supper in Husavik. Hope to return some day.

Very pretty location. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the hot tub was lovely, the shower was splendid and breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly during our one night stay. We picked this as a 'fancy' option during a road trip around Iceland and it was worth the detour up around the fjord to do so. The hot tub is indeed hot and made for a nice way to wind down in the evening. With the bed being so comfortable it made getting a great night's sleep really easy. The curtains blocked out the light really well so the midnight sun isn't going to keep you awake all night in the spring and summer. Had a lovely night.

One of the my best stays in Iceland. Enjoyed the outdoor hot bath, which the property also offers indoor sauna (but note operational at selected timings only). The room is lovely with a window overseeing the 'boat on the dock'. There is a common area for people to gather and chat, with central heating in the centre. The breakfast buffet was great too, served in the restaurant, and you get to enjoy nice views as well ... however, they close the restaurant when breakfast is over, meaning all patrons will be asked to adjourn elsewhere. The bar is open in the evenings, but pretty pricey so go easy on the alcohol :)

What a fabulous hotel, in an amazing location. The views from the hot tub and sauna are just breathtaking. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, with robes and slippers to wear down to the outside sauna. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Staff were all very friendly. We also got a great view of the northern lights at 2am from right outside the front door. The town is small but has a few good restaurants and is nice for a walk around. Definitely recommend the herring museum. Having a car meant we could explore the local area, including the ski slope. Can’t recommend visiting the area and Hotel Siglo enough.
